Thanks to funding secured by California State Assembly Majority Leader Ian Calderon and an innovative skatepark design by Spohn Ranch, the City of La Puente is about to land on the LA-area’s list of top skateparks.
La Puente, California is 2 miles from Spohn Ranch headquarters in City of Industry, so we’ve taken a special interest in this project and worked tirelessly over the past decade to help bring it to fruition. With contracts officially signed, we are honored to bring our vision to life and give back to the neighborhood we’ve called home for nearly 3 decades.
The skatepark design mimics an urban plaza with artistic lines, tiered concrete elevations and replicas of urban architectural elements like seat walls and handrails. A handful of transition elements round out the corners to create continuous flow and prevent dead ends.
In addition to the skatepark itself, our work incudes a state-of-the-art lighting system, a spectator seating area, a drinking fountain, access paths and a pair of basketball courts.
Construction is currently underway and we are aiming for a summer grand opening. Stay tuned for updates!
