An iconic United States Army installation, Fort Bragg, is now home to one of the region’s most innovative facilities for skateboarding and BMX bike riding. The skatepark was built for the service men/women and their families as a positive recreational escape from the hardship of
combat. The design is signature Spohn Ranch – well-rounded, with a solid balance of street and transition-style terrain.
During construction, we took the environmentally-responsible approach of balancing the cut and fill in the park – using the material generated by the bowl excavation to build up an elevated area with highly-coveted stair set. The visual character of the park is enhanced with concrete color tint and cantilevered sculptures – making the space a vibrant attraction for the entire base.
