For years, Sea Isle City’s skatepark was nothing more than a handful of plywood ramps and a patch of rough asphalt. In 2012, the City decided enough was enough and recruited Spohn Ranch to engineer a solution that would modernize their space. A tight footprint (compounded by a fence on four sides) and strict State regulations made creating a contemporary layout a challenge – but one we welcomed nonetheless.
When our design team determined the existing asphalt was structurally sound, we recycled it by using it as a foundation for new concrete terrain. We created elevated areas using engineered foam. With well-balanced terrain, vibrant color tint and eye-catching sculptures, the space finally complements the energy of the surrounding bay.
