After completing a pathway-style skatepark at the Castaic Sports Complex, Spohn Ranch’s second of two skatepark design/build projects for the County of Los Angeles is charging ahead at George Lane Park in Quartz Hill, California – just southwest of Lancaster.
The 15,000 square foot George Lane Skatepark will replace an under-utilized horseshoe pit area in the northern part of the park. Shaped by the goal of preserving as many trees as possible, the skatepark design features a 5’ – 7.5’ bowl, a beginner-friendly snake run and a variety of street elements including stairs, grind rails and grind ledges.
The skatepark design also spares no expense in the amenities department. The full spectrum of site amenities, including shade, seating, a drinking fountain, a bike rack and a state-of-the-art lighting system elevate the skatepark to a world-class standard.
Spohn Ranch is performing a turnkey design/build scope including drainage, earthwork, concrete/shotcrete, steel, landscaping, etc. and we are anticipating construction will be complete in April. Stay tuned for grand opening information and as always, check out daily updates via our social media channels.
