On Saturday, October 13, Spohn Ranch and the City of Hawaiian Gardens will celebrate the grand re-opening of the Clarkdale Park Skatepark.
Over the past few months, Spohn Ranch’s skilled craftsmen have been transforming what was once an unremarkable collection of metal ramps into a modern concrete skatepark. Although our canvas was linear and compact, the updated space is thoughtfully laid out and features a wide variety of street and transition-style terrain. Features include a quarter-pipe with a “mousehole” gap, an “a-frame” with a hubba ledge and a set of tiered manual pads.
We took Rythym Skateshop rider Carsten Boyer to check out the new and improved Clarkdale Park Skatepark. Check out photos of him enjoying the skatepark below.
The new Hawaiian Gardens skatepark also includes a spectator seating area with a shade canopy.
Early reviews from the skateboarding community – both from professionals and neighborhood youth – have praised the high-quality construction and unique, modern obstacles.
We’ll see you at the grand opening!
