Quartz Hill, California’s George Lane Park is now home to one of LA County’s premiere skateparks courtesy of Spohn Ranch’s design/build talents.
The 15,000 square foot concrete skatepark officially opened on August 14 to a massive crowd of skateboarders, BMX bike riders and community supporters. The project was our second of two skatepark builds for Los Angeles County, following an equally-successful street plaza at Castaic Park that opened earlier in the year.
Located just south of Lancaster, the George Lane Skatepark covers the full spectrum of terrain styles and skill levels. The skatepark design wraps around a couple of beautiful shade trees and features a 5′-7.5′ bowl, a beginner-friendly snake run and several street elements including stairs, grind rails and manual pads.
The perimeter of the skatepark features spectator seating, a shade structure, a drinking fountain, bike racks and a state-of-the-art Musco lighting system.
Thank you to LA County’s Department of Parks and Recreation and all of our other collaborators!
