On Saturday February 23rd, Spohn Ranch joined the Logan Wells Memorial Foundation, the City of Anaheim and several hundred of Logan’s family, friends and supporters to officially cut the ribbon on the Logan Wells Memorial Skatepark.
Despite unprecedented levels of rain throughout January-February, our veteran team of skatepark builders stayed on track with the aggressive construction schedule and finished just in time for a sunny Saturday celebration. Our design canvas was tough, with a narrow footprint and challenging topography, but based on the countless smiles and high fives on opening day, we know we nailed it.
After spending years guiding the Foundation through the skatepark design and construction process, the grand opening celebration was an emotional, yet uplifting day. Playing a part in helping Logan’s family find a sense of peace and closure has been such a rewarding feeling.
A few weeks after the skatepark opened, we returned for a session with our friends and professional skateboarders Jeremy Wray, Ryan Townley and Mike Piwowar.
We hope to see you skating at the park, just like Logan would have loved!
