It’s incredibly rewarding when we can help where we are needed most. With nearly 30,000 residents and an area of only 1.1 square miles, Maywood, California is one of the densest cities in Los Angeles County. So as you can imagine, places to play or ride a skateboard are limited.
Collaborating with EPT Design and the Trust for Public Land, the same team from Monitor Avenue Park in Watts, an abandoned lot was transformed into Benito Juarez Park.
At only 1,800 square feet, the skate spot at Benito Juarez Park required a thoughtful approach to provide skatepark staples while maintain safe spacing and traffic patterns.
One of the smallest spaces we’ve ever designed and built, but serving the youth of Maywood is the real reward.
