Construction is moving swiftly on Bend, Oregon’s new state-of-the-art skatepark at Ponderosa Park. The Bend Park & Recreation District, in collaboration with PUSH of Oregon, the local skatepark advocacy group, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on September 12th. Since construction was already underway, this ceremony was a little different than normal – giving the community an opportunity to walk the site and get a feel for how the park would actually skate.
Another exciting update is that the City asked us to add color to the concrete mix design. The park will now feature Red River Clay concrete pigment artfully woven into the skateable terrain. Construction is scheduled to wrap up in November!
