Garden City Skatepark

Presented with limited funds, we collaborated with local skateboarders to design a budget-conscious park that would maximize the City’s funding while providing users with the key ingredients for a fun park they would enjoy skating on a daily basis.  What the park lacks in aesthetic “wow factor”, it makes up for with solid flow and a strong diversity of features.

While the budget was small, the timeline was even tighter – our build crew battled severe rainstorms and frigid weather to complete the project for a pre-Thanksgiving grand opening celebration.  Located amidst a growth of large trees, the site presented its own unique challenges, but the end result was a true success that had the skateboarders of Michigan begging for one in every neighborhood.
