Skateable Art Website Launches

We’ve finally launched the stand alone website for our innovative new product line called Skateable Art, which can be found here. Click the link to browse through the site and read about the inspiration, see the catalog of pieces, and discover how the amazing process works.

Rather than relying on the traditional skatepark model, Skateable Art utilizes concrete sculptures to create unique terrain where the innovation of skateboarders can truly flourish. With compelling shapes that rival the work of elite sculptural artists and unique colors and textures, Skateable Art can regenerate any public space. Whether it’s adding on to an existing skatepark or building a park path with a series of pieces, Skateable Art is the perfect solution for multifuctional art that is aesthetically pleasing.

Daytona Beach Skatepark in Construction

Click the photo above to see shots of the construction work in process at Spohn Ranch’s premier skatepark for 2009 in Daytona Beach, Florida. This 20,000 square foot concrete skatepark is being built through a combination of pre-cast and poured-in-place concrete. By utilizing the advantages of each system, the city of Daytona Beach is truly getting the best of both worlds.

At this point, the majority of the pre-cast elements have been set in place, the poured-in-place bowl has been finished with pool coping, and all that remains is the final flat work. Stay tuned for more updates on the construction progress and the date of the Grand Opening.
