Waterfall piece for skatepark bowl with elevation changes

This is part of a waterfall to be installed in a SpohnCrete bowl. This piece is massive, about 8 feet tall x 10 feet deep x 12 feet long. We’re finally pushing pre-cast to the point where it can replicate any poured-in-place feature, including waterfalls, over-vert and complex spines. This puts SpohnCrete lightyears ahead of other pre-cast concrete builders. Many people still think of pre-cast concrete as a simple system of traffic barriers and banks which are designed and built by non-skaters. This pieces shows what is possible when lifelong skaters spend 20 years researching and developing the cutting edge of skatepark construction. While this is a milestone in concrete skateparks, it still represents the tip of the iceberg of pre-cast concrete’s potential. As more pieces are added to the SpohnCrete library (2-4 per park), the cost of parks comes down. We put this piece out as a challenge to anyone who would compare SpohnCrete to previous generations of pre-cast concrete. SpohnCrete is a new way to build custom concrete skateparks, not a way to fool cities into thinking they’re getting a “concrete park”. No approach plates, no seams, no threshold between slab and transition. And while we’re pushing the system bigger and bigger (as evidenced by the above photo), we’re also paying attention to the small parks and elements, including our innovations in Skateable Art. New renderings of SpohnCrete parks

We had high-end 3D renderings created for several of our SpohnCrete skateparks. Most of these parks are already built or under construction. While these parks only begin to tap the potential of the SpohnCrete system, they’re a good starting point when creating a custom skatepark.

Advanced features like waterfalls, over-vert, granite ledges and more make SpohnCrete the best solution for creating custom skateparks with reliable installation and superior performance.

Richard Walton Concrete Skatepark – Spohn Ranch

The SpohnCrete skatepark in Oakdale, MN has become an important community space for local skaters. They gather to skate, talk and (most importantly) make videos.

We’ve seen some very nice videos from other SpohnCrete parks in Lemont and 29 Palms, but the Oakdale skaters are coming on strong:

Spohn Ranch Custom Ramp Featured in Shaun White Ad

The new Shaun White promo videos are up at HP.com.

Shaun joins an elite group of pro athletes (Tony Hawk, Bob Burnquist, Danny Way, etc…) who use Spohn Ranch for their high-profile projects.

The videos are funny and short, and even feature a little skating.

Sure, the haters will hate on Shaun for doing these ads, but who cares. He’s promoting skateboarding, snowboarding and action sports to an audience that doesn’t like the bloody knuckles and ’skate-and-destroy’ ethos put out by the core skateboarders. He’s getting more kids to skate, buy skateboards, use skateparks and (most importantly) buy skate shoes.

Shaun was a blast to work with and was cool to everybody on the set. He skated the ramps hard — pulling airs way bigger than we anticipated.

Spohn Ranch has worked with pro athletes for over 20 years creating new ways for skaters to launch themselves into the atmosphere. (Including Danny Way’s jump over the Great Wall of China).
